Hawaiian Airlines Plans New York Flights
After expansion in Japan and Korea in the last year, Hawaiian
Airlines is now the focus of its Far East:
New York City.
In June, the Honolulu-based airline will make its first touchdown on the
East Coast with nonstop flights between Honolulu and John F.
Kennedy International Airport in New York, the first direct link between
the two.

"The New York area has been underserved," said Mark Dunkerley, chief
executive of Hawaiian Holdings Inc., the company Hawaiian Airlines'

the airline aims to serve in the coming years.
"All the great cities of the East Coast are in our list," he said.
Hawaiian Airlines began 82 years ago carrying passengers between the
islands of Hawaii in two eight-passenger amphibious aircraft.
Now is the 11-country's largest airline by traffic and is expanding.
In recent years, has arrived in Sydney, Manila and Seoul.
In April, the airline will begin service to its fourth destination in
Japan, where it has Tokyo and Osaka.

"Japan has been an undoubted success for us," said Dunkerley.
The airline focuses on pleasure flight operations center in Honolulu and
its surrounding islands connection with his service short-haul jet.
Like its peers, Hawaii struggled in the 2000s, but the company rebounded
with a healthy profit in 2009 and 2010.
Analysts polled by FactSet predict the plane will lose $ 9 billion this
year, beaten by a $ 42,000,000 one-time charge related to the leasing of
aircraft, terminals, but is expected to earn $ 63 million in 2012.
Hawaii is the top carrier between Hawaii and the West Coast, where it

Hawaiian will operate a 294-seat Airbus A330-200 of the nearly 10 hours,
5,000-mile flights, which start on June 4.

Prices will be competitive after the promotion, Mr. Dunkerley said.
Continental is in charge of between $ 680 and $ 1,000 for a ticket on
economy class round trip for the route in June, according to airfare
